A warm August and the confirmation of something special brought unexpected but much-welcomed inspiration.

'Womb of Creation' is the first release for IN THE ABSENCE OF WORDS for 2020 and comes almost 10 months after the previous release.

When I first started IN THE ABSENCE OF WORDS three years ago, the goal had always been to express thoughts and feelings by exploring different sounds. As the project went on, I found myself leaning towards and striving for a particular sound and style, which, by the end of 2019, I think I achieved.

For 'Womb of Creation', I went back to the original goal to express myself through different sounds and in ways other than words. To that, 'Womb of Creation' may sound and feel different from previous IN THE ABSENCE OF WORDS releases, the least not because of the rhythms, yet the motivation and intention remains the same.

'Womb of Creation' was inspired by personal events around creation. It was also inspired by contemplations during COVID-19 about Mother Earth, life itself, creation, evolution, the beauty and wonder of all creatures, and all lifeforms despite mankind’s apparent inability to see it.

I am a copywriter by day and humbled to work with words for a living. However, whether it’s a stark or dramatic landscape, the serenity and solitude of the forest, a connection with another human being, or the grief of losing one, sometimes it’s difficult to find the words.

IN THE ABSENCE OF WORDS is a project I started as an outlet to express experiences and moods in other ways than words. The original goal was to create “chapters” every month for one year. With each chapter, the aim was to create a "story" based on a mood or feeling. After achieving this goal, I decided to record and release new music only when I felt I needed or wanted to.
